It's about time, is all I can say. Geez, what does a guy have to do to get some respect around here? Some 20 plus years after their retirement from Pro Football and the Dallas Cowboys, both Cliff Harris and Rayfield Wright will be inducted into the Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor this fall (2004). An honor that is well over due for both players.

Cliff HarrisCliff Harris came to the Cowboys from small Ouachita Baptist College as an un drafted Free Agent in 1970. Harris became a starter at safety his rookie season but that was interrupted by a military commitment. After his Military commitment was complete, Harris returned to his starting role as safety for the Cowboys. Harris started nine consecutive years at safety, was named to six Pro Bowls and six All-NFL teams (first or second) during his 10-year career. He was a member of two Super Bowl winning teams and all five of those Cowboys teams to appear in Super Bowls during the 1970's. Plus Cliff Harris was selected to the all Decade team of the 1970's!

Rayfield WrightRayfield Wright was drafted by the Cowboys in 1976 out of Fort Valley State as a tight end. After a few years at tight end, the Cowboys moved Wright to the offensive line were he became a mainstay for the next 10 years. Wright was the first dominating offensive lineman for the Cowboys and one of the teams most decorated of his era. Rayfield played in 5 Super Bowls, winning 2, 6 straight Pro Bowls, and was on 12 playoff teams. Wright will become the first offensive lineman to be inducted into the Cowboys Ring of Honor.
