NFL Obscure Virtual Football Cards
« on: June 27, 2012, 12:58:52 am »
As the title suggests, these are not real cards, just pictures made up to look like cards but some of them are pretty good.  Of the 715 cards, many are Dallas Cowboys:

Here's an example of Eddie LeBaron:

Some of these are pretty good, but the selection of Vinny & Quincy, leave me scratching my head as to why they were included.

I've worked with the guy on that Flicker site that created those cards.  I've turned some of his 'virtual' cards into the real deal.  A few sets actually.  Right now I'm working with him (and others) on a large WFL set.

I love Quincy and Steve can vouch for that. Of all the QBs of the 2000 he is my favorite.

From the homepage for the set:
Quote
This set of NFL Obscure Virtual Football Cards has been created by Bill Jones and Willie O'Burke.

The players featured in this set are primarily featured because they gained some fame in alternate leagues, such as the CFL, AFL, Arena League, WLAF, WFL, USFL or NFL Europe. The set also features NFL players playing for teams other than the team with which they gained fame (For example, Johnny U in San Diego). In some cases, famous NFL players are shown in Throwback uniforms in an effort to memorialize those classic looks.

None of that applies to Quincy.
