The following lists the football card products scheduled to be released in the next 2 months. The release dates have a tenancy to change and I will not get cards in stock until days if not weeks after the initial release. 1990 Topps Traded Emmitt Smith PRO MINT 9.0

PSA is hiring graders. In sort of a surprise move, PSA President Joe Orlando posted on the Collector's Universe message board that PSA was looking to hire a card grader. The position will be located in Southern California (Santa Ana area). If your interested you can either email Joe (joe@collectors.com) or call his office 949-567-1170 for details.

The PRO Grading experiment. This article is worth reading. Its a documented article about one collector's experiment with sending cards to PRO Grading company to be graded. The experiment involved the submission of 10 cards. Each card had a story and some had been removed from other grading company holders. Read the story to see how PRO Grading stacked up against some of the big boys in the grading community.

3. Dallas Cowboys News

Upcoming NFL Draft;
The performance of the Dallas secondary was beyond poor during the second half of last season, and the emphasis in drafting corners and/or safeties this year will likely be focused on their ability to cover more than hit. Another pass rusher would also be a welcome addition to the defense. Offensively, Dallas has to be looking at the respective ages of Terrell Owens (33) and Terry Glenn (33 in July) and searching hard for an impact receiver. Elsewhere within the attack, free agent pickup Leonard Davis does not solve the club's offensive line woes in and of himself. Don't be surprised if three o-linemen take their place among the team's 10 selections.

To be sure though, Cowboy card collector will keep their own on the draft to see which of the players the Cowboys draft appear in the first 2 football card releases of 2007, Sage Hit and Press Pass.

5. Web Site Additions (stats)

I am constantly adding cards, sets and players to my ever growing database. Here are the current stats from my database:

468 - players listed
6,548 - sets listed
27, 031 - cards listed

I recently added the 1960 Team Sheets to my database. There are 10 sheets in this set measuring 9x11 (inches). There are 4 players on each sheet (1 sheet has 5 players). A lot of the players in this set were not in my database so when I added this set, I had to add 10 new players to my database. These are players that do not appear in any sets that I already have listed.
See this sets checklist.

6. Cards in the news.

Although this particular story does not pertain to a Cowboy card it is of particular interest to sports card collectors as a whole. The 2006 Topps Regular Derek Jeter (Yankees baseball) card was recently released with a fury of hype. Apparently someone from Topps airbrushed some unique characters onto the card. If you look closely in the Dugout, behind Jeter, you will see none other than Yankee Great Mickey Mantle. On the other side of Jeter, in the stands, standing up is none other than President George Bush. Once the news of this 'error' card hit the street sales began to skyrocket. This base card would typically sell between $1 to $2 was selling over $100.00 on eBay with parallels going in the thousands. The highest value to date was a Copper parallel (numbered to 56) sold for $10,000 on eBay. Honest. Check out the ebay link - here.

Tony Romo RookieCard of the week (not yet available on my web site).
One of the reasons for the Tony Romo rookie card craze that occurred late last season was the fact that there are so few Rookie cards of Tony Romo available. Trading card companies did not pay much attention to the undrafted Free Agent from Eastern Illinois. There are only a handful of his Rookie cards on the market compared the 100s available for most top tier Rookies.

Now you can get a 2003 Upper Deck Tony Romo Rookie Graded 9.5 Gem Mint by Beckett Grading Services. This is one of the finest examples of this card available. If you missed the Tony Romo craze late last season, don't miss it this year. If Tony starts out hot, which we all hope he does. His Rookie cards will once again be in demand and in some cases be out of reach.
