1. Newest Cowboy cards.

The newest 2007 Cowboy cards I have in stock are Playoff's NFL Playoff brand. The Playoff brand has been around since 1994 and they were the first brand to use high quality card stock. The 2007 Playoff brand uses a clean design with WHITE card stock. These cards have a clean look about them - front and back.

I do have these base cards in stock as well as some parallels. click here to check them out; 2007 Playoff NFL Playoffs

Some of the coolest 2007 cards that I don't have in stock yet but eventually will are the 2007 Sport Kings. These cards are a throwback to the original Sport Kings cards released in the mid 1930s. They feature different athletes from all sports. There are 2 Dallas Cowboys featured, Hall of Famers Tony Dorsett and Troy Aikman. I love the artwork on these cards and the size is just a bit smaller than a typical card just as the original 1930s cards were.

I don't have any of these cards in stock yet but they will eventually show up so keep your eyes open by checking back to this page on my web site; 2007 Sport Kings.

Other brands that are just recently released or soon to be released that I expect to have in stock soon are; 2007 Playoff National Treasures, 2007 Topps Performance, 2007 Topps Triple Threads, 2007 UD Exquisite, 2007 UD SP Authentic and 2007 UD Ultimate Collection. All of these late issued 2007 brands are considered high end products meaning they produce very few base cards and often those cards are serial numbered. I will not be getting any bulk lots but should get pieces of each so keep your eye open for them.

Big Changes for eBay. (story)
eBay, the largest online auction house is revamping their system. They are lowering listing fees but increasing the final value fees as well as tweaking the feedback system. I have read a lot about this change on message boards and most if not all sellers do not like it. It will hurt their bottom line. I hardly ever sell anything on eBay but it is a great source to pick up sports cards. I ALWAYS check out the auctions for Cowboy cards, especially vintage stuff which is harder to find than the new shiny stuff. Although eBay is constantly tweaking their system, his is the biggest change they have ever made.

Do you have 600k to spare? (story)
All of this talk about a recession has not impacted the high end sports card market, especially the vintage side. A 1951 Bowman Mickey Mantle Rookie PSA 10 recently sold by Memory Lane, Inc for 600k. That is the second largest price tag for a single baseball card trailing only the 'holy grail' of baseball cards - 1909 T206 Honus Wagner..

PSA going to a half point grading system. (story)
The biggest sports card news from January came out of the PSA (Professional Sports Authenticator) camp. PSA, the oldest and most respected sports card grading company around, has announced that they will be moving to a half point grading system. If you don't dabble in graded cards then this doesn't mean much to you but there is a huge market for graded sports cards and this move has created quite a stir in the sports card community. PSA's major rivals in the sports card grading market (SGC and Beckett) use a half point grading system while PSA has always used basic grades of 1-10 with 10 being the highest grade (Gem MINT).

I have recently began accumulating graded examples of Dallas Cowboy cards. I really love the look and feel of these cards when they are entombed in these graded capsules. I have been accumulating PSA 7s - PSA 9s. I find that this range provides excellent quality cards but at bargain prices especially when you consider the PSA 10 prices. If you want to see some of my graded Cowboy cards, look here; Dallas Cowboys graded football cards.

3. Dallas Cowboys News

Cowboys record setting 2007 season ends with a thud.
I can't remember the last time I was this disappointed in a Cowboys team. I suppose it all boils down to expectations. My expectations were low at the beginning of the season. I had learned a long time ago to expect little and appreciate every win as if it might be their last. This has worked well for me especially during the bad seasons. Some time during this season, probably after the Packers game, my expectations rose immensely. I expected them to reach the Super Bowl. They were easily the best team in the NFC by handling the Packers. I suppose many of the players got the same feeling because they simply did not play well after the Packers game.

This is eerily familiar. Didn't this team do basically the same thing last year? The only bright spot I can see is this team is young and the future sill looks very bright but as we have seen in this era of free agency, teams can fall from the top to the bottom just as fast as teams can rise from the bottom to the top. The best thing the Cowboys have going for them is an owner that Wants to WIN. I suspect Jerry will do whatever it takes to get this team over the hump.

5. Investing in Cowboy Cards

I reported on this section in the January newsletter. I have continued to collect data and you can start to see a pattern of prices especially for cards that appear more often like the 1989 Aikman and Irvin Rookies as well as the 1990 Emmitt Smith Rookies. Book mark this page and check back often, I think it will become a great resource of Dallas Cowboys HOF Rookie card data. Dallas Cowboy Hall of Fame Rookie cards

Here are some Cowboy related web sites that I have recently visited that I found extremely entertaining.

Look what Dallas Cowboy fan and artist Zach Bolinger is doing with the Cowboy cards I sold him a while back; Dallas Cowboys Mosaic Posters. I am amazed at what Zach can do with simple football cards and I think you will too. As soon as I get my wife's permission, I will be purchasing one of these for my office!

Know Your Dallas Cowboys - I don't think anyone knows them as much as this blogger. The depth information on here is simply mind blowing.
