Cliff Harris
Cliff Harris was an undrafted free agent safety in 1970 from Ouachita Baptist University. The Dallas Cowboys saw his potential and quickly signed him as a free agent. Cliff became a starter at free safety his rookie season, which was interrupted by a military commitment. Cliff regained his starting spot the next year and never relinquished it until his retirement in 1980. During his career Cliff played in 5 Super Bowls, winning 2, 6 Pro Bowls, and was named to the All NFL team 4 consecutive seasons. The Pro Football Hall of Fame Selection Committee also named Cliff to the All-Pro Team of the 1970's. When Cliff retired after the 1979 season, he had intercepted 29 passes in 141 games. Cliff was inducted into the Cowboys Ring of Honor in 2004. After football, Cliff Harris worked in Electrical Marketing in the Dallas area. In 2003 Cliff Harris and his old team mater Charlie Waters co authored a book, Tales from the Dallas Cowboys that tell stories about the Dallas Cowboys during the 1970s.
