Derek Ross Dallas Cowboy football cards
Derek Ross, CB from the Ohio State University, was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the 3rd round of the 2002 NFL Draft. Derek turned in one of the finest Rookie seasons for a defensive back in some time for the Cowboys. He led the team with 5 interceptions as a rookie, playing in only 14 games and starting 9. Derek's attitude got him in trouble early with new head coach Bill Parcells in 2003 and after just 8 games into the 2003 season, Derek was cut. He signed with the Falcons and finished the 2003 season in Atlanta. Derek signed with the Minnesota Vikings in the 2004 off-season and played in 9 games for the Vikings in 2004. Derek was never able to recreate the flair he had as a rookie. In 3 seasons, Derek played in only 33 games and intercepted 6 passes. Derek was arrested on drug charges in the Spring of 2006 and sentenced to 4 years in prison.
