Russell Maryland, Defensive Tackle from the University of Miami, was selected 1st overall by the Dallas Cowboys in the 1991 NFL draft. Russell stepped into the Cowboys lineup immediately and vaulted the Cowboys defense to tops in the league. During his 5 seasons in Dallas the Cowboys went from NFL doormats to 3 time Super Bowl Champions. After 5 seasons in Dallas (1 All Pro), Russell signed with the Oakland Raiders. Russell played with the Raiders for 4 seasons and finished his career with 1 season in Green Bay. Russell retired after the 2000 season. He played in the NFL for 10 seasons, won 3 Super Bowls, recorded 24.5 sacks and also collected 2 interceptions.
