Robert Newhouse Dallas Cowboy football cards
Robert Newhouse, FB from the University of Houston, was selected in the 2nd round of the 1972 NFL draft by the Dallas Cowboys. Robert Newhouse symbolized the NFL during the decade of the 70s with his hard nosed approach to the game. Robert's hard nosed approach made him a Cowboy fan favorite. Robert was a major cog in a Cowboys offense that dominated the 70s and early 80s. He led the team in rushing in 1975 with 930 yards on 209 carries, plus he added 34 catches for 275 yards. He helped the Cowboys win 3 NFC Championships and 1 Super Bowl. He tossed a touchdown pass to Golden Richards for the final score in Super Bowl XII. Robert retired from the NFL in 1983 after 12 seasons with the Cowboys. Over that span he rushed for 4,784 yards and 31 touchdowns, he also caught 120 passes for 956 yards and 5 touchdowns.
